Tumblin Dice Double Oak Single Barrel Bourbon – Selected by Seelbach s Cheap

Description
Total Age: 8 years
Proof: 103.9 proof
Finishing: Blended and proofed down after 5 years, this was put back in barrel during the COVID glass shortage at 100 proof for an additional 4-years
Tasting Notes: There is little to immediately draw you to a double oaked profile on the nose. It’s a bit jammy at first, then follows with milk chocolate, pecan praline, and coffee cake.
The palate too gives more traditional 36% rye characteristics (burnt citrus, chocolate covered raspberries) while the extra time spent in the second barrel rolls off some of the typical spice and instead adds more depth of caramel and vanilla.
The finish is long, silky, and coating – giving off more desserty notes with pops of leather, coffee, and barrel char well balanced in each sip.
A great bottle for someone who wants to ease into double oaked profiles.
