Tasting Notes: While the nose sets itself up to pack a punch, the intensity of the finishing is what is highlighted most here. Juicy, satiating, intense port fruitiness, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and damp rickhouse.
Much like the nose, the palate is focused on intense fruit saturation. Where VBS-04 was thick chocolate, deeply syrupy with dense fruit intensity, VSB-05 is a much cleaner entry, still with milk chocolate and dark cherry but followed with deep, dry, earthy tobacco and mushroomy funk.
The lingering finish goes back to highlighting fruity sweetness with trailing balanced oak that continues to draw out the longer you sip.
